Dockside Band is playing a charity event in Easley tomorrow, April 14th #livemusic #easley #greenville @DocksideBand

Want to help out a great cause?

Come to the Pickens County Cancer Associations’s “Pig Pickin” tomorrow, Saturday, April 14th!

Three great bands will be playing there… Up first is The Bottom Line Band, then at 1:30, The Dockside Band, and finally, at 3:30, $2 Pistol. TDB will be performing originals, and a lot of our country material, unless otherwise requested once we get there.

It’s all you can eat wings, a beer garden and live music. Some of the area’s best BBQ cookers will be there, such as our friends over at Nard’s.

The location is the Easley Town Center Square area, around the clock belltower. Bring your sunscreen, an appetite, and a wallet with some folding money to help out the PCCA!

After this event, we will load up and head over to Rendezvous on Pelham Road in Greenville, SC for a gig where we’ll play all your favorites, from country to rock, to beach, to originals, and help get the party started!

You’ve helped The Dockside Band become #4 in the charts – THANK YOU!

A popular music connection site is ReverbNation, where tons of bands from all over the world go to showcase their talent. They post pictures, videos and audio recordings of themselves, and connect with people just like you would on Facebook.

We created a profile, uploaded one of our original songs, not even a studio recording but a live recording of us performing at an outdoor event (the grand opening of Palmetto Moonshine in Anderson).

Between our ReverbNation connections, facebook and twitter, we’ve gotten a number of views, and a lot of positive input.

If you have not given the Carolina beach tune, “Carolina Baby” a listen – you can do so here:

Share it with your friends, and help us keep our spot on the charts.  Your help is what keeps us booked steadily and we appreciate it greatly!

If you are a bar or club, or maybe an event coordinator for festivals, weddings, etc, looking for live entertainment in the Greenville and Upstate area of South Carolina, please consider us!

TDB put together another new song during tonight’s rehearsal… Country / Rock Party Goodness!

Derrick Dorsey came by my office a few weeks ago and had jotted down lyrics to what would be his first song. After listening to him recite them, we put together a basic riff, recorded it on his cell phone, and at the first chance, played it for the rest of the band.

Tonight, we finally had time at the studio to make what is sure to be the final arrangement of the tune. Chris Carroll changed the groove significantly, breaks were added with the input of Tom Wheat, along with the sax fills, and Mark Harmon went to work with me to try and lock in the rhythm section.

It’s not quite ready for prime time, but if you come to one of the gigs this weekend and ask us to perform “Get ‘er Done”, I bet we would give in and do it live, in spite of the penalty for failure.  This is sure to be a hit!

Actually, the name is “‘Til the Cows Come Home” I believe…

Greenville’s Best Party Band? Yew Betcha!!!

Why do we think WE are “the best” party band that Greenville and the Upstate has to offer?

Because everywhere we go, it’s a party! Whether it is a festival, wedding, corporate function, a bar, club, anniversary or a wake, we’re going to be there with smiling faces, and playing the songs YOU want to hear!

Sure, there are other bands in the area, and some pretty darn amazing ones at that, but how many times have you seen one “recite” the lyrics to songs with no emotion, or possible not even break a smile. They often take themselves too seriously.

Not us! We provide a professional show, with just enough silliness to make it unexpected and exciting! Lyrics might get changed, a song may be performed outside of its original genre, such as “Shook Me All Night Long” done bluegrass, or Tracy Chapman’s “Give me one Reason” done rock, or my personal favorite, “Sweet Child of Mine” done with a swing to it. And don’t forget our original songs which ranges from rock, to country to beach!

We *can* dial it back and play totally straight faced, but, if that is what you want, you might want to look for one of the other bands.  We’ll be putting up links to some of our favorites soon!

Book The Dockside Band for your next function, you won’t be sorry!

New website – please beware of bugs

We’re working on a new website, powered by WordPress to allow us to be more interactive.

We’ll post information here about venues, songs, artists, and maybe some personal stuff about band members. Like the fact that Derrick still wets the bed. Okay, maybe we won’t talk about that.
